EvoTech

EvoTech is one of the corporations that hold power in The Divided City of Kastkardia, and the appointed authority over District 7. It deals in technology, including implants and other augmentations.

Project Chimera

Project Chimera was an EvoTech program that experimented on people, implanting them with technology that left them violent and mindless. Those subjected to it are known among Dwellers as experiments, or psychos.

One hundred and thirty-five of them escaped EvoTech's control into District 7, where they attacked its residents. EvoTech placed the district under lockdown in response, imposing curfews and restricting the movement of resources and technology in and out of it, and presented itself as acting for the district's protection.

Operation Cleansweep

Operation Cleansweep was EvoTech's plan to release a toxin into District 7's air filtration system, killing the escaped experiments so its teams could recover them. Surviving Dwellers were to be offered an antidote afterwards. The board approved it in the knowledge that casualties among the district's residents would be significant.

The plan was never carried out. Denny, a Dweller of District 7, recorded the board meeting at which it was approved and broadcast the recording publicly. The district rose against EvoTech, and the Enforcers moved in once the program became public knowledge.

Aftermath

Once Project Chimera and the Cleansweep plan became public, the Enforcers were obliged to act. They moved into District 7, rounding up EvoTech's militia and beginning the work of recovering the experiments still loose in the district.
